The Zambian Kwacha (ZMW) is the currency. Credit cards work in cities & lodges; keep cash handy for local rural markets.

Malaria prophylaxis is strongly advised. Drink only bottled or filtered water and ensure standard vaccines are current.

Nshima (thick white maize meal porridge) is the proud national dish, typically enjoyed with meat, fish, or vegetable relish.

Electricity runs at 230V, 50Hz. Plug outlets accommodate types C, D, and G. A universal G adapter is highly recommended.
